Boys and girls. This is a picture of Liverpool players celebrating Big Sami's curling header into the goal against Arsenal. But this post is not for Sami, a Liverpool legend, whose tribute post will come soon, like the departed Robbie's and Luis Garcia's.

For the moment, shift your eyes to the leftmost player on the picture. The bald hitman lookalike. Yes number 37. Now all hail Martin Skrtel, the newest addition to Liverpool Football Club, signed from Zenit Petersburg by another hitman, Rafa himself.

As most great foreign centre backs, such as our own Sami Hyypiä, Skrtel has a virtually unpronounceable surname. Sami's double y is pronounced as Hoopia, while Martin's is probably going to be pronounced Skirtel, which is probably acceptable given the high difficulty level.

Not only does Skrtel look like hitman, he plays like one. He shows people no mercy when clattering into them, and as shown on his debut has no qualms about squaring up to someone more experienced and looking like he's about to kill him, in this case Olof Mellberg. Or when he clattered heads with Adebayor and left Adebayor in a heap, while he just got up and rubbed his head, face emotionless. Now that's a beast.

The fans from the lfc.tv forum have came up with a new one for Martin

"Skrtel- Taste the elbow"

Now that's class.
